Mission: Escape the haunted room in 60 minutes or less…
Spoiler alert: we didn’t.
But oh man, did we have a blast trying.
He Said “Pack a Bag.” I Said “Okay!”
He took us on a MINI VACAY to the beautifully eerie streets of Savannah, Georgia. This place is home to mossy oaks, cobblestones, and haunted legends. We also faced one mind-bending escape room we’ll definitely never forget.
🛣️ The Road to Clues & Chaos
Just two hours north of Jacksonville, the drive alone was postcard-worthy. Winding roads, Spanish moss, and that tingling sense that something mysterious was waiting for us.
Escape Savannah greeted us with a creepy smile. It is a local gem known for classic escape challenges. It also features a seasonal haunted house. Naturally, we said yes to both.
🧩 Room Expectations vs. Escape Reality
We expected a private game: solo room, full control, lots of teamwork.
Plot twist: A surprise family of five joined our session.
Now, sharing an escape room with strangers isn’t a dealbreaker… but let’s be real — it’s tricky. It’s like an unspoken game of clue-claiming etiquette. You don’t want to hog the locks, but you’re also there to win.
🎭 When the Door Opened… and the Actor Walked Out
Boom.
Out stepped a man — fully in character — straight from a 19th-century nightmare. He loomed, he lectured, he led us in riddles without ever breaking character.
And just when we thought the surprises were over…
There. In the corner.
A live actress. Half-hidden. Half-creepy. Fully committed to creeping us out and feeding subtle clues. Theatrical genius.
🔐 The Puzzle Pressure Was On
This room was tougher than expected. The layered clues and spine-tingling distractions made every second count.
With our mixed team and adrenaline flowing, we almost made it.
Almost.
