September is here, and that means one thing around here.
Spooky season has officially started.
And we’re kicking it off with one of our favorite traditions—Halloween Horror Nights.
We’ve been going to HHN for almost ten years, but somehow we still get excited every time the trip gets close. This year, we’re packing up and heading down with family for another attempt at our yearly mission: see as much of HHN as we possibly can before they send us home.
But this adventure isn’t starting at Universal.
It’s starting on a disc golf course.
We’re heading down Wednesday and making our first stop at Green Gauntlet, a course we’ve never played before. Because if there’s a new course anywhere near where we’re traveling, there’s a pretty good chance our discs are coming with us.
After our round, it’s hotel time, food, and whatever adventure we find that evening.
Then we wake up Thursday and it’s officially HHN DAY.
We’ve got the Express Passes. We’ve got our crew. We’ve got a plan.
Now we just need Florida weather to cooperate.
This year’s HHN will be a little different for me, too. I’ll be about 14 weeks away from meeting baby number three, so the rides are officially off my list.
The haunted houses are NOT.
Can we hit every house again? Will we actually make it until 2 a.m.? Will Florida give us one HHN without a rain delay? And most importantly…
How good is Green Gauntlet?
We’re about to find out.

🎧 The Story Before the Trip
Before we leave, I’m sharing a little more about our almost 10-year HHN tradition, our yearly HHN mission, who’s coming along, and what we have planned for this year’s trip.
Then we’re taking you along for the adventure.
Planning Your Own HHN Trip?
Last year, our cheap Walmart ponchos saved us during a Florida downpour. If you’re heading to the parks, having a few packed before the rain starts is definitely worth it.
