Here’s something pregnancy apparently forgot to take away from me:
My competitive side. 😂
I’m 16 weeks pregnant with baby number three, and somehow I’m still looking at my disc golf game thinking…
Okay, but can I get better?
I know. I’m growing an entire human.
But I still want that putt.
I still want the good drive.
I still look at my rating.
And I’m still chasing 900.
Pregnancy Changed the Body. Not the Competitor.
Being pregnant and competing is an interesting combination.
My body is changing almost weekly. Energy isn’t always predictable. Eating on tournament days has become something I actually have to think about. And I’m learning that what felt completely normal on the course a few months ago might feel very different today.
But mentally?
Oh, I’m still there.
Put somebody a few strokes ahead of me and suddenly I forget we’re supposed to be taking it easy. 😂
That’s the part I’m learning to balance.
I want to push myself.
I also have to respect what my body is doing.
And those two things don’t always agree.
So Yes… I’m Still Practicing
I’m still getting in my 100 made putts a day.
And let me clarify:
Not 100 attempts.
100 MADE PUTTS.
Some days those last few make me question why I created this rule for myself. 😂
But I want to stay sharp.
I’m exercising. I’m trying to eat right. I’m practicing when my body allows it. And I’m doing my best to take care of myself and this little passenger while still doing something I absolutely love.
I’m not expecting my body to perform exactly like it did before pregnancy.
But I’m also not giving myself a nine-month excuse to stop working.
I’m finding the middle.
Or at least attempting to.
And Now… The Women Are Coming
This next tournament is going to be different.
THE RAW is coming.
And THIS one I’m excited about.
It’s a women’s team event with teams of five women, and right now we’re looking at around 7–8 teams coming out to compete.
That’s potentially 35–40 women playing disc golf together.
COME ON!
Especially when I’ve talked about how difficult it can sometimes be to find a full women’s division to compete against, seeing this kind of turnout is exciting.
No MA3 this time.
No being the only woman in my division.
We’re getting a bunch of women together, forming teams, competing, laughing, talking trash—I assume 😂—and just enjoying disc golf.
And somewhere in the middle of all of them will be me…
16 weeks pregnant with baby #3.
Now I Have One Question…
Can I keep up?
That’s what I want to know too.
Because I’m not going into The RAW expecting sympathy strokes.
I’m not showing up thinking, Well, I’m pregnant, so whatever happens happens.
Nah.
I’m coming to play.
Smart? Yes.
Listening to my body? Absolutely.
Taking care of baby? Always.
But competitive?
100%.
I want to see what my game looks like against a field full of women right now.
I want to see whether those 100 made putts a day show up when I need them.
I want to see if the exercising and taking better care of myself makes a difference late in the round.
And mostly…
I want to have FUN.
Let’s See What This Pregnant Woman Can Do
Pregnancy has already made this season different than I expected.
But maybe different doesn’t have to mean worse.
Maybe this season isn’t about playing the best disc golf of my life.
Maybe it’s about finding out how much I can still do while my body is doing something incredible at the same time.
So here we go.
Baby #3: 16 weeks.
100 made putts a day.
900 rating: still the goal.
Next challenge: THE RAW.
Five+ women per team.
8 teams.
A whole lot of competition.
And one pregnant Disc Golf Bug wondering…
Can I keep up with these ladies? 👀
We’re about to find out.
And you already know I’ll be back to tell you exactly how it went.
Let’s show ’em how a pregnant woman does it.
